That idea was as foolish applied to my Grandmastership as it is applied to life itself. Time flies by. Ask any old person on their death bed and many will question where their life has gone.

My two years has flown by and I have completed some of my goals and others have been unaccomplished. The main uncompleted goal was to grow the hash and have consistent numbers.

While consistent numbers WOULD be a good thing as it makes the hares job a lot easier, I have accepted that we do not have to have large numbers to have a great hash. Some of our best trails have been ones that had only a handful of people in attendance.

The last hash that a GM hares has always been a shindig - a large affair that sometimes has lasted all weekend. After the 600th campout (a great time) found only 1 or 2 Reading hashers staying while the other 20 were out of towners, I decided that mine would be a smaller affair.

The 700th (Sat May 31st 2008) is basically going to be a regular hash with the 2nd Rubber Duckie Regatta and a fun apres. No regos other than just send me an email if you can so i can plan the food. Im saving my energy for the AGM and the summer and the PA INTERHASH.

I am excited for the new GM to come into office and apply a fresh energy. Its time.

OE

HASH #699

Unlike most kennels who have an AGM annually (or some that never have a mismanagement change) - Reading has always flushed away its mismanagement every 50 trails.

That equates to about 2 years per empire. Thats a good amount of time - long enough that everyone should have the hang of things but not too long as to overstay their welcome.

In some ways it is very hard to believe that tomorrow is the last regular hash of my Grandmastership. In some ways its gone amazingly fast and in others its been excruciatingly slow.

After I pass the crown to the next fool, uhh, I mean the new Grandmaster, I will probably post some reflections on my reign.

But right now two things that pop into my head are:

I didnt achieve a significantly larger base of ACTIVE hashers. Our numbers are about the same as they were 2yrs ago - even though the faces are a lot different

And I just dont get the attitude that EAGER BEAVER has towards Reading. When she got into a girly pissing contest with someone from outside RH3 we, as a kennel, pretty much rallied the wagons and protected her - not based so much on who was right or wrong - but almost solely on the fact that she was from here and we take care of our own first. Then she moves away and seemingly does everything in her power to exhibit not even the slightest appreciation. I have heard on several occasions that she talks smack and now has issued an edict that she doesnt want any non-H5 trails to be posted to their website. This creates a completely pointless "us vs. them" mentality. I dont buy into that. I love publishing ALL the local hashes on readinghash.com I encourage everyone in Reading to travel to local and distant hashes. If they chose to or not to - thats beyond my power - but I want them to know that there are all sorts of excellent hash events. EAGER, tell me why you feel slighted and maybe there is something I can do to alleviate that. But please dont backstab and undermine - thats just not right.

OE

PA INTERHASH: Reading Beer, Things Moving Along!

HASHERS:

Greetings!

Just back from a meeting with Scott Baver (Reading Beer) and J-WALKER (PAIH Guru) and I am happy to announce that we have found a kindred spirit.

Reading Beer is fully onboard as the official beer of the PA INTERHASH 2008. The agenda was a secret and secrecy abounded. I was told the wisdom of the ages ( and this collection of past GMs has some freaking age ).

One thing that nobody prepared me for was hash drama.

I strongly believe that the RH3 should be a kennel where everyone (except maybe poofters) is welcomed and given an equal chance to make fools of themselves.

What happens at the hash, stays at the hash.

Then the drama started. Bimbo drama mostly. Most of it blown way out of proportion or just simply evolving from utter falsities.

Then some piece of shit steals the hash cash at FESTER's. Then big drama happens at a hash and that BS could have resulted in charges and some folks losing their livelihoods.

Sometimes my email fills up with drama. I try to stay out of what I can but when I do have to get involved I try my utter best to address both sides fairly. Often there is no clear right or wrong and I just don't know what to say so I rule as to what is best for the Reading Hash.

We all need to do what is best not for ourselves but for the RH3. I once even got caught up in a smigeon of drama and wish I hadn't because the fallout was not in the best interest of our hash. It can happen to anyone.

So, I am closing this part by asking you this:

Before you talk behind someone's back - ask that person face to face

Before you screw someone else's bimbo, wanker, sister or mother - ask them if its OK

Before you commit a crime - ask yourself if you would do the same thing if you werent't hashing

Don't steal the hash cash. There is a special corner of hasher Hell for someone who would do that. The same applies to drybags, thongs, beer, etc

Honor the edict - What happens at the hash, stays at the hash

I guess that is enough of that.

PA InterHash 2008.

J-WALKER is diligently working with our two main possibility hotels in Reading. One is changing chain names and the other is putzing around for a different reason.

Obviously the first step is to book a date and location so we can start publicizing that we are the host kennel for PA INTERHASH 2008 (autumn).

When we have a date we will start gathering volunteers from here and kennels across PA - people to coordinate everything from registration to transportation to trails.

This is gonna be a kickass time even if the crime rate continues to fall in Reading. Stay tuned.

DC Red Dress Run 2007.

As of now this hash is over 50% soldout.

We have three Readingites going so far: OE, BLAWB, DONALD FRUMP.

If you havent been to this - u should go. Its beyond words as far as the degree of fun you can have over these three days.

Even if you THINK you can go - sign up. The RH3 turnout was terrible but those of us who did show had a great time. The Blonde Bombshell did her karaoke thing and the highlight of the night was virgin TEABAGs naming after passing out and almost being teabagged.

IH06 was in Kutztown with karaoke and madness at Shorty's. My personal highlight was BIGRIGs rousing rendition of TEQUILLA (im not even sure that is the right name of the song).

This yr we returned to Kutztown out of convenience and back to Shorty's after Timothy f'd us by going out of business and taking his promised food and beer deals with him.

So....in order to insure freshness and new madness each year we decided to have a virgin select the following year's interhash location.

A PA roadmap was sectioned off to include the main Reading and LVH3 hashing areas (with Philly allowed to remain just because it would be funny to have our interhash down there). ANGEL forgot to bring a dart so we had the virgin fling blobs of mustard over his shoulder until one hit within the box.

So........ Interhash 2008 will be held in NEW RINGGOLD. Runner of all ages and levels of physical beauty who shared the common bond of healthy cardiovascular systems and low BMI's.

Pictures of fitness, these running creatures, these so called road runners, looked upon the hashers as beings from the darkest corners of the Earth.

"Yuck, look at them and their disgusting names so proudly worn on necklaces". Most of them avoided the golden nectar like it was a purple concoction being readied by the Rev Jim Jones deep in a Guyanese jungle compound.

The day before the hash I attended a circus and before the show I wandered about - examining the strange sights and creatures. I decided that I would do the same thing in DICK's back yard - wishing I had a notebook to jot down my impressions....

There was a young maternal bimbo, who several years ago ran an EVERYDAY trail and had a great time, but who now wouldn't have touched a hasher if there was a million dollar available as the reward. She had obviously evolved beyond hashing.

One attractive female runner was openly craving a beer but said she would be "upset" with herself if she did because she was on a high-tech diet that involved massive planning and eating 6 meals a day - none of which included malted beverages. Sounds like fun to me. Not.

A few of the runners expressed obvious scorn for my large silver-clad drinking vessel although one smiled when I told her would make a great server for Gatorade, Pedialyte or Powerade - that was language she understood.

I saw a runner make accidental contact with a hasher as they passed by each other. Before you could count to two she was in tears, grabbed a portable bottle of Purel and was frantically scrubbing the spot of skin that had touched the heathen. She was sobbing, "will it come off?, will it come off?".

Meanwhile, most of the hashers didn't notice these things as they were too busy beating a path to the Lager keg and the pizza tables.

There were still a few runners left (most having departed to get in bed by 9PM for their next day's 4AM pre-work 20 miles runs) when hashers started getting naked and plopping into the tub. I don't know what their reaction was because by then I was numb to it all.

There were a few hybrid types - hashers who also can morph into the world of moisture wicking synthetics and personal bests. Applause to LICK HER ONLY who refused to stop drinking Jack even though many of her pavement pounding peers were obviously shooting x-ray vision beams at her for being so thin in spite of those calories. EVERYDAY ASSHOLE is well known for being able to exist in both worlds and even coordinates runs for them. He is such and everyday asshole that he can get away with it. DICK ON A STICK will run 30 miles just because he is bored but everyone knows he is a true hasher plus its his house and you won't find me badmouthing anyone who is nutz enough to host wankers. DEATHWISH may have running ability but he is FAR more of hasher than ANY potential he might have as a runner. Even though he did ID himself to the runners with just his nerdname. EWE BANGHER (or however its spelled) is an old time hasher who seemingly has left the flock to do silly Type A things like run 100 mile r*ces. Even though he didn't have the sense to keep the 100m event shirt in the drawer he did have the sense to turn it inside out.
EARLY WITHDRAWAL is a born hasher who just hasn't learned to give up running yet. Maybe some day he will. Two words: Jim Fixx.

Maybe the funniest thing of all were the running bimbos who harbored unspoken desire for the hashing men. You could see them as they struggled to come to terms with the newfound burning in their loins - lingering in the background - lustfully eyeballing us as we refilled our vessels, uttered profanities and openly pissed in the bushes. For some, it may have been their first interaction of real men- the type of virile manly studs who would have no problem saving the day by pummeling a panther to death if one had jumped into DICK's backyard and tried to drink the beer. These bimbos knew that their menfolk would probably be recreating the George Costanza birthday party fire scene from Seinfeld - running away from danger without regard to the fact that the beast might eat the women and children and suck the keg dry.

Yes, you sinewy bimbos - we ARE real men. We walk around nekked at times - our large..... mugs and vessels ready to do down-downs at a moments notice - not afraid to release our testosterone onto anyone who will accept it.

With that I issue an invitation to them to HASH. You won't have to tell anyone or leave your weekly distance shenanigans.... just attend a hash and let your hair down. In time we will give you a hash name and your lifetime-subscription-to-Runner's-World-magazine comrades won't even have to know.

Oh yes, there was a hash trail in there too <insert>and JUST SHANE got named <insert>.

Thanks to the RH3 and visiting wanks who attended and help moderate the seriousness level of the evening.

Congrats to our newly named wank.

May DICK ON A STICK always fling wide the doors of his casa - welcoming the sane and insane alike.

ONON,
OVEREXPOSED

Grandmaster's Rant: Fri 5/25/07

WANKERS:

Greetings on this fine summery night.

It's a Reading Hash weekend as BIGRIG. DEATHWISH & JELLO hare their "Take This Job & Shove It" hash on Sunday May 27th at 2PM. Celebrate the end of 11 1/2 years of BIGRIG hauling asses and many moons of JELLO enslaved in corporate America. DEATHWISH is just there to lay trail and BBQ chicken. And to spread his version of warmth and charm of course.

The ONON is at BIGRIGs abode in Morgantown: http://www.readinghash.com/HashSchedule.htm

One day before that, tomorrow, is Lehigh Valley's MAYFAIR HASH. In spite of the gay name of this hash it is sure to be a good time. A couple of us will be heading up for the festivities.

Other matters:

The next hash after this weekend is the 3rd Anal RH3-LVH3 Interhash. This year its in Kutztown. This is always a blast. No karaoke this time but plenty of golden nectar. Details on the website. Please try to attend as they will definitely bring a herd of hashers and we dont want to look all ate up and give F NANA any additional inspiration about our mythicalness.
Hares: HARE ARE NEEDED! June is covered. Three RH3 hashes in July between the INDEPENDENCE DAY HASH we still have 2 dates that need hares. Same deal for August. The POWER OF THE POOHSAY campout is 11-12Aug07 and then two open dates just waiting for hares.

Virgins. Bring a virgin or three. The hardest part of recruiting new boots is just getting them out for their first time. They have all heard that we are drunks and that the apres' are huge orgies of people swilling beer and in kilts. Bring them to the hash so they can see that this is only partially true.

Wednesday June 6th. We will hopefully be locked into a place and have a date soon. When that is done we will start the PR and release the logo. At that point we will start asking for help with specific projects. Hopefully Reading doesn't suddenly solve its crime problem by the Autumn of 08 as we are going with some form of Crime & Punishment theme.

Drink Reading Beer. Thats just my personal opinion but its a damned shame that we have our own beer back and most people refuse to try and drink it.

I finally got the cast off the other week. First, he LOOKS LIKE a poofter.

Its unlikely he is a beer drinker.

Of course these two things do not automatically DQ someone from being a hasher. There are plenty of hashers who look like a poofter and prefer something other than beer.

But, read the article and you will see that one of the reasons why he broke up with Jessica Simpson is because he was "fed up with Simpson's revealing outfits". WTF?

No matter what you think of Jessica Simpson's mental midgetness - there is no debating that she is a hot chick. Hotter than most of us have ever had. And this clambone is bitching because she dresses TOO sexy!?!?

THAT is what would keep him from being a hasher.

Grandmaster's Rant

Social. The Tilted Kilt in Mt Joy. You know what to wear. Don't have one? Plenty of time to hit up Seamus at Sportkilt and have yours here by then! This is a www.lancaster505.com gathering.

PA Interhash: We met with J-WALKER a few weeks ago and the hotel list continues to be narrowed down.

It had been about 11 weeks. No wonder it hurt so freaking bad when I was laying in the snow in February.

Possible roadtrip to Hockessin next Wed. Let me know if you wanna go.

ONON!
OVEREXPOSED

Sanjaya Is A Weirdo But I Want Him To Win

American Idol is the cheesiest show on TV and more canned than pro wrestling.

I want that sexy lil freak Gina to win. Piper Thompson McConnell was piping in the morning as he stood on Chestnut Street.

Inside, we drank Guinness beer and ate a good Irish breakfast and socialized. Oddly, the place wasn't that full and we were the ONLY ones kilted.

A good start to the day. Came home to ramp up for the evening but then took a header on the snowy driveway and decided I need to heal a bit before tomorrow's St Pattys Fatty.

For me to miss a 3/17 in Reading you KNOW I am under the weather. Recently Legacy Brewing bought the name and started producing barrels of beer under the Reading name.

Nevermind the fact that the actual recipe is missing - its still great to have this brand back. How many cities can say they have a beer with their name on the can?

The last time I checked the state capital of PA wasn't TROEGS.

Yesterday I ventured out to find one of the dozen or so places that are selling draft READING.

It was nice to see the original READING logo on the taphead. Brewer's barmaid tapped my $1.75 draft (cans coming in the Spring). It was several shades lighter than a Yuengling Lager.

Since I am absolutely NOT a fan of most microbrews I was afraid I would end up gagging down my attempt at supporting the hometeam.

The beer was fresh and cold and not bad at all. I could easily see this being a partner with Yuengling for the official beer of the RH3.

As I savored this new addition to my bloodstream I watched what the others in the bar were ordering. Not surprisingly, most were requesting national brands and some went for the Lager.

Hopefully READING will be pushed hard in Reading because it would be a shame to have it fail simply because people are morons and would prefer to give their money to a huge brewery instead of the local guys.

The website isn't well developed yet but it will probably expand. Check out: www.readingbeer.com and have yourself a cold pint the next time you see READING on tap!

LVH3 Roadtrip, Yuengling Hash, Bloody Valentines

Reading Hashers:

Greetings!

First, let me offer you my sincere thanks for *NOT* spamming up our yahoogroup. If you happen to belong to the Hbg-Hershey list - its been a bloodbath lately - mainly of non-hash related nonsense. Ours remains pretty free of non-essential posts. FART CONNOR is the exception because his postings are usually done as a result of a raised BAC. :p

Last weekend I represented the Reading HHH at the Lehigh Valley's 50th Hash. There was beer on a shiggy-ful trail followed by an apres at a dive bar. A good time was had by all. If you havent made the short road trip to our neighbors to the NE - I recommend it. Our Reading-LVH3 Interhash is upcoming - on world hash day - 6/9.

PEED BY ME was not spotted.

This weekend is the 2nd Anal YUENGLING HASH in Pottsville.
I have heard that BIGRIG, JELLO, JAFO, DOODLE & GLASS ASS will be attending the informal pissup at the Humane Fire Company on Friday night. Its all you can drink for $15 which includes a DJ and allegedly some serious rowdy fun.
Saturday's main event starts at 2P. See the Hash Schedule page for full info. If you can play a musical instrument or think you can - bring it along.

JUST LAYS THERE and I have postponed our 2/4 hash. Not enough time to get home for the game. I will probably do some drinking at Champions around 2P. Details will be posted for the boozin as well as the new date.

BLAWB LAWB LAWB LAWB has joined BETWEEN DICKS and LITTLE BITTY "I aint blowing no horn until football season is over" TITTY for the Bloody Valentines Day Hash on February 11th.

Keep recruiting. Many people have said that the previous mild weather makes our current temps feel colder. That may be true but the weather on January 20th WAS cold.

Congratulations to the Lehigh Valley Hash on making their third attempt last for 50 trails. The pack gathered at a fish hatchery before busting brush (that's right, no pub crawl - not even a pub!) through some scenic and interesting terrain.

Several out of towners celebrated this momentus occasion including hashing legend, TUMBLING BILL whose mother hash is Kuala Lampur. This from the Columbia News Service, 3-14-06: In the United States, nary a city is without a hashing group. William “Tumbling Bill” Panton, although British, is the grandfather of American hashing. After 20 years in Kuala Lumpur as a soil scientist for the British Agricultural Department, Panton, who ran with the original Hash House Harriers club, started the United States’ second-oldest chapter in Washington in 1972. At 78, the retired Panton still hashes once or twice a week and travels around the world compiling a genealogy of the hash. To his knowledge there is a chapter in every large country except Chad and North Korea.

“That’s the way I waste my retirement,” Panton joked from his home in Chevy Chase, Md., “but it keeps me fit and it’s better than having Altzheimers"

Hanging on the wall above the bar was a neon light that a few months ago approached the status of work of art. Today it is almost obscene - it's "PRIDE OF PA" statement is enough to make some beer fans blood boil. F those big corporate wheeler dealers - at least the damned foreign owners kept #33 in Latrobe.

I just don't get why A-B chose to dismember this beer. Hopefully, people will choose not to drink this now that its made in New Jersey.

Today was a worthy road trip: good trail and people, fun, nice dive bar, a few hot bimbos and a living legend.

A Santa Hash For The Ages

Maybe it was the 60 degree weather that allowed the evil elves to dig deep in their hearts and find a tiny bit of love and compassion for the pack of near 40.

Who would have thought?

The typical shitty, poorly marked, festively colored trail eventually lead us back to the Forest Inn - the same dive that almost caused me to seek treatment from a Gastroenterologist in 2005 but not before:

An actual beer check - with Schlitz and on a bridge and near the dog with the biggest tits I have ever seen on a canine. That's hard to believe as this year as gone by very quickly.

A few days ago someone said they are looking forward to attending our "Fu&k Santa Hash". I corrected her but after giving it some thought - MANY of us WILL be saying that after Santa Fu&ks us.

As the head (who said head?) evil elf has repeatedly stated, 'this is a traditional' Reading Hash. By this he means and 'old time' RH3 trail where it was mostly about the damned running. Don't count on beer before or during the trail. There MAY be but I wouldn't bet anything of value on it. Primarily this is because the elves are cheap sons of bitches who keep all the best toys for themselves and send the broken Starsky & Hutch games to the needy ghetto kids.

The saving grace of this hash is the kickass apres. You can always count on seeing a another of Reading's dumps, delicious greasy food and the ever generous and perverted Santa Claus himself.

Bring a drybag as you will probably need it and the trail may very well be a bigtime A to B. Bimbos - dont be afraid to dress like your inner slut.

After several years of making DC an annual pilgrimage in October I was giving thought to making this my last year for awhile.

Years ago there were a bunch of Reading and H5 hashers who attended among the 1000 total. This year it was just me and VAGINA WHINER and the event was capped at 425.

If I had stayed home I would have been able to make the Hayride & Straub's hashes, spent a whole lot less money and done a whole lot less driving.

But then I arrived in DC and I knew that my addiction to this hash event was well worth it.

There is just something about Red Dress Weekend that is hard to find anywhere else. DC is such a crazy vibrant city - even BEFORE 100s of idjits in red dresses arrive. What a contrast to the 10s of thousands of runners who are also in town for the Army 10 Miler.

The weekend starts with Friday's lingerie hash - 125 people in their best fineries running the streets. Many people just skip the running and arrive in their lingerie and start drinking beer.

Saturday the red masses converge. This year the ONON was at a bar named "HR 57". HR57 is big news in the DC arts community as it has been under renovation for three years (and several 100 thousand tax dollars). Thankfully it is still a dive and the hashers couldn't harm anything.

Every conceivable type of red dress was present: from Strawberry Shortcake to coneheads wearing red to barely-there lingerie.

Not long after I signed in I ran into VAGINA WHINER. He was attending solo and was the sole representative of the Hbg-Hersheyt HHH.

It didn't take long for him to start having a good time.

A professional photography outfit was again inhouse and taking pics for anyone who wanted them. All included in your rego and you ended up with a nice 5x7 in a frame.

The steady rain subsided just before we circled in the trash-strewn back alley. The mob was off.

Remembering 2004 when I was at the back of the pack on the runners trail (with 3 bims) and we found ourselves in a back alley with a junkie shooting up ( a safe place to be with a few HUNDRED others but no so safe when it was just 4 of us) - I decided that my photographic proclivities would be best served on the walkers trail.

It always seemed wrong to run by so many fascinating things in DC with no hope of checking them out. The walkers trail was a whole lot more fun as I could take photos and check things out without falling hopelessly behind (and possibly being ass bungled or killed by a soulless back alley crackhead).

The trail soon came to the BC - a nice bar that didn't seem to mind our red-clad hordes. The beer flowed freely and we lingered for the better part of an hour. A DJ was kicking tunes and many people danced and interacted. It was great to see some of the friendly faces that I hadn't seen for a year and meet some crazy new wankers.

Somebody broke out a very red tube of lipstick and before long half the pack was covered in red smooch marks.

The pack returned to the trail and before long we were back at the dump. The food was being served and another DJ was somehow making the sardines dance.

At 8PM we got the boot and I heard several ON-AFTERs being announced.
I said my goodbyes and headed off into the darkness. Walking back I saw some odd things including the dimly lit Iraqi Embassy and a scene in the 2nd floor living room window where a well dressed older man was posing for a photo with a tall fugly transvestite. Even odder, the photographer was a pirate dressed completely in purple. Odd even for the Dupont Circle area.

If you haven't been to the DC Red Dress run - you need to go at least once. It's a hashing experience that you won't regret.

Hash Info Including The Santa Hash

Readingites:

Even though we failed to do something for HARRYBELLYFONTE's visit (he will be returning and we can have a 2nd shot) - we have a LOT of hashing upcoming.

This Friday, October 6th is a HAYRIDE HASH (carrying both a Reading and TMI trail #). Sounds like a great time. I will be in DC for the 13th RED DRESS RUN but I hope we have a lot of RH3 hashers in attendance.

Saturday is the STRAUB'S HASH in Wrightsville. That's one hour from downtown Reading.

Sunday the 15th is a LOW KEY HASH with low keyed hares BAD and UNCLE FESTER. ONON is at Stoudt's clocktower.

Sunday the 22nd takes us to Blue Marsh. No walkers trail. Expect a shiggy mess.

Then, its Halloween Hash time. Harrisburg and Philly start out with theirs on Saturday the 28th. The Reading Halloweenie will start with our participation in the 2nd Annual "Fitzy's Run" for brain tumor research. EVERYDAY and OE drank beer before, during and after (maybe the only ones doing so). Following this fun and meaningful and costumed event (EVERYDAY won best dressed for his prom queen getup) there will be a short trail to more beer and food.

Hares are needed for BOTH November Sundays. You? Yes, YOU! Lehigh Valley has their regular trail on 11/18 and their famous BLACK FRIDAY HASH on the 24th.

And, the #1 evil elf, NFB, has tentatively slated Sat December 16th for SANTA FU&K'S THE HASH. He warns this will be a "traditional" Santa Hash which in his terminogy equates to an ontime start, little beer on trail and pathetic greasy food afterwards. A true fu%king! But, the festivities at the apres make up for the f'ing as Santa calls each and every hasher to his lap for a wonderful gift.

Full info is at www.readinghash.com HASH SCHEDULE

As always, tell a friend (preferably a bimbo) about the hash. Our numbers are increasing. Reading kicks ass and its time we make that known. The first thing is for YOU to get out and hash.

See you on trail!
ONON,
OVEREXPOSED

Our Hash Pig Has Grown Up

As our kennel has just turned 22 I thought it was time our old hash pig had a makeover.

He wasn't in too bad of a shape for his age but nobody had ever seen more than the top of his body.

A few days and a few dollars later and an artist somewhere out in Central USA had created the new RH3 pig. Because of her part-time job milking cows and her familial trait of a lack of breasticular abundance she will forever more be known as MILK DUDS.

This Saturday (16th) offers TWO special hashing events: The Philly 1500th and the Lehigh Valley 2nd Anniversary. Both are worthy of your time and money.

Friday the 22nd is a momentous occasion of our own - the 21st birthday of the Reading Hash. Yes, its hard to believe that we have lived long enough to finally be legal to drink but its true. ONON is where is was and always is. DECOY is your hare and full info is on the hash schedule page. Show your f'ing respect to your home hash and get out!

PA INTERHASH is the 29th,30th & October 1st. We have a pathetic FOUR wanks signed up. There are now special ONE DAY rates (listed on the hash schedule). EVERYDAY, A.N.G.E.L. (I may be forgetting someone) are laying the main trail on Saturday. This only happens every 2yrs and its a blast. We will be hosting in 2008.

There will NOT be a RH3 trail on Sunday October 1st or Monday the 2nd because of the PAIH.

I wont mention DC RDR as its full but A.N.G.E.L. and other are laying a hayride hash on Friday October 6th. This will probably be under the H5 banner but somewhere in our area.

The next regular trail is Sunday October 15th. A HARE IS NEEDED!!

DECOY & PULLS OUT EARLY are haring Sunday October 22nd at Blue Marsh. I have an army weekend so I will miss this one (its out of synch with our regular schedule) so I am hoping a hare steps up for the weekend prior. If not, this one will become the 2nd and not the 3rd. THREE hashes in October is a good thing so hopefully one will.

One week later ( Sunday Oct 29th ) is our annual HALLOWEEN COSTUMED HASH. It will be a pub crawl theme and the bimbos have plenty of time to put together their ho/cheerleader/schoolgirl get ups.

November follows and a hare is needed for the 12th.

The HASH SCHEDULE has all the info you will need.

Most sincerely,
OVEREXPOSED
GM #14

Hashing Is Not For Pussies

Greetings!

First, the DC RED DRESS RUN is closed. The 425 regos sold like hotcakes. If you get a burst of energy and decide you want to go there will be a webpage for buying and selling of existing registrations.

The other big event that is fast approaching is the PA INTERHASH. Sadly, we only have 3 or 4 Reading hashers signed up. Thats pretty pathetic considering it is right up the road (and the Saturday main trail is being laid locally by EVERYDAY and crew). And, we are the hosts of the 2008 PAIH so it makes us look extra lame for not having more in attendance.

The last PAIH was an awesome time. Granted New Cumberland isnt Warren but it will still be a hoot. You get to meet hashers from all over PA, drink beer, eat, dance and have a good time without having to drive very far at all. If you can go you will not regret it- www.painterhash.com

This afternoon I stopped at Lowe's. Ernesto's very leading edge was just starting to cause a light drizzle to fall. It was so light that you would have had to stand outside for sometime before you even felt moisture through a shirt.

I look up and see this guy entering the store under the protection of an umbrella. A freaking umbrella! Like he is made of sugar and the 25ft walk would cause him to melt.

The old lady also has an umbrella but she is old. She probably shivers violently from cold in the middle of the summer. The guy on the other hand wasn't old and probably wasn't made of sugar so he is just a poofter.

I have posted before and mentioned some people who would make good hashers. This guy is not one of them.

We need new boots to grow our beloved RH3. If every hasher, even every active hasher, would bring even one virgin we would quickly have a really solid base of idjits.

Think of people you know who have some of the following traits: fun-loving, crazy, beer-drinking, outdoorsy, outgoing and of course, good looking bimbos. Tell them about our kennel and invite them to an upcoming trail.

The responsibility to build our hash falls on everyone. The next trail is the 9/11 Remembrance Hash on 9/11/06. This one would be a good trail for a virgin. Hope to see you then!

Sincerely,

OVEREXPOSED

Grandmaster's Rambling #5 - DC Red Dress Run

Wankers:

Greetings! Two years ago the Washington DC Red Dress Run was capped at 1000 people. They had 900 or so idiots in red dresses register.

Last year, it was capped at 500 and sold out.

This year, October 7th,2006, the max is 425 and over 150 are already gone.

Simply stated - the DC RDR is one of the most fun hash weekends you will ever have. Attend some or all of it but no matter how much of the weekend you experience you will have a blast!

Friday night is the infamous Lingerie Hash. Yes, they actually run a real trail through DC on a Friday night in lingerie. Personally, I just pay and goto the venue. Less sweat, more beer. I have seen some crazy hash things at these Friday night shindigs.

Saturday is the main event. The gathering of the red-clad wonders for an always-unpredictable trail that almost always leaves 100s of tourists scratching their heads in amaze ment. The trail is always fantastic, the beer delicious and good food and a band afterward. The 2005 trail outdid itself with all-night madness at some secret society building somewhere in DC. All I can say is that when I somehow found my way back to the hotel I was carrying a big bag of Indian/Pakistani food that I had little memory of buying.

Sunday morning brings the Mimosas and Bloody Marys as a peaceful walk takes place. This Fat Boy trail is the way they should be after a long hash day prior - slow and steady.

There are always regular hashes Thursday and Sunday afternoon.

I would love to have a herd of Reading Hashers go down. Please check your schedules and if you are interested sign up at http://www.dchashing.com/dcreddress/ They are serious when they say 425 means 425. Also, the tshirt last year was great. SINCE WHEN DO THE FRENCH KNOW ANYTHING ABOUT TESTOSTERONE???

Then I say - "Have you seen his wife, Amber?". Wow - what a cutie. Maybe he did sneek a little testosterone into his diet but it probably wasn't to enhance his bicycle riding!

The French can kiss my ass. They hate Americans winning "their" Tour and I am sure they hate a Mennonite country bumpkin even more.

Floyd Landis has a hot wife. Celebrity girlfriend on his arm, arriving in limos and expensive autos, no media outlet ever talking about him without also discussing the Big C.

Floyd is different. First, his name is FLOYD. Second, he is from Farmersville, Lancaster County. That's RIGHT HERE. He used to hang out at the Green Mtn Cyclery in Ephrata. He left the strict Mennonite ways to train and live in San Diego. You just know he was in his apartment with a fridge full of beers too.

For 7 years Lance made America proud even as the average American didn't really care. It was a routine. Just another reason to see Sheryl's ripped tanned legs on stage.

But Floyd is a good old boy. He came back from an 8 minute deficit - a task that everyone said was impossible to accomplish. The cops in Paris are waving Floyd flags. His is a different kind of win.

I hope there is a parade for him. I will be there with a cooler of beer and I will crack one open and raise it in a toast to him. Sometime this Fall I am going to hare a trail in Farmersville and we will have a beer check in front of his folk's house.

Grandmaster's Rant #4

Greetings Readingites!

After receiving a scathing email (from a non-RH3 hasher regarding my JESUS SAVES edict) that called me a DICTATOR - I decided to institute a bi-monthly social entitled DRINK WITH THE DICTATOR. Each time we will gather at a different Reading-area location.

Every even numbered month I will publish a location and time and anyone who shows up will be treated to a free first round of drinks.

When I got the idea there were only a few days left in June so we met at Champions for their "Naughty Schoolgirl Night"

PULLS OUT EARLY and RIBBED FOR HER PLEASURE arrived and we hung out and watched the frat boys make feeble efforts at winning the love of the barmaids. Winston Churchill or YOU'RE MY F'ING HERO would have been proud!

This week's theme was bikini night and next week's is lingerie night. Somehow I suspect that at least some Reading hashers will be there (this IS the unofficial RH3 bar).

July 3rd rolled around and our PISSUP was also held here ( no theme). LITTLE BITTY TITTY, BETWEEN DICKS and DECOY met me here but things werent happening and we were hungry. So we went across Lancaster Ave to Flanagan's.

They have some awesome clams - small but tasty - and their shrimp are equally good. RUBBER BALLS and EAGER BEAVER soon arrived and our little PISSUP was a joyous affair.

The rain held off the following morning as Independence Day stayed dry for the 22nd Annual Reading Independence Day Hash on Mt Penn. The CEREMONIAL MOONING OF THE FAGS also took place.

Almost 30 hashers watched the sunrise and followed trail through Mt Penn. A great apres followed at Keugler's Roost.

RH3 is on a roll. Bring a virgin, tell your sexy, drunken or even athletic friends.

July holds a "road trip" to LUNACHIC's TMI Full Mooner on the 10th, newly renamed LICK MY TRUNK will hare a ghetto hash from the Pennview on the 24th and the last weekend is ANGEL and EAGER's "POWER OF THE POOHSAY" hash in scenic Jim Thorpe. All this info is on the website.

This is YOUR hash - comments and suggestions welcome at any time. And yet, you can goto almost any kennel in the world and at least 50% of their trail and traditions will be the same as any other kennel anywhere on Earth.

This is amazing and something that makes hashing very unique.

It is often said there the first rule of hashing is there are no rules. A catchy phrase that is not really true but symbolizes the inclusive nature of hashing. Almost everyone is welcome at the hash and each kennel is free to celebrate its own unique traditions and eccentricities.

American hashing is uniquely unique as we put great importance on hash names and probably more on socializing and partying. Even with this - the founders of hashing would still be able to recognize their creation - almost 70 years later.

Things that make a hash a hash - without a doubt the comradery and friendship and socialization are utterly critical to our hobby. It's great to know that a minimum wage earning virgin can attend the hash and feel welcome while surrounded by wankers who may be millionaires or PhDs or rocket scientists.

Beer is also a common and critical element of who we are and what we do. Yes, you can exist quite peacefully and successfully as a hasher without drinking beer but the golden nectar makes most of us happy and is the fuel that drives most kennels.

Just like there is room for all types of hashers in hashing - there is also room for all types of trails in hashing. Recently a hash was hared by an long-time hasher and done in an old-school style - no beer before or on trail and only minimal beer and food afterwards as his emphasis was to be on the socializing.

This throwback style is certainly legit but it is not the norm for US hashing or for Reading. Hashers expect beer checks. There is nothing wrong with that. It doesn't mean they are drunkards or even that they want to get drunk - BNs are simply part of the drama of hashing.

I see the "norm" for RH3 trails 651-700 as:

On-time starts

Beer and possibly snacks before the trail

BNs on trail - preferably every 1 - 1.5m

Beer and food at the circle. Food should be significant snacks so that everyone gets enough to eat or some sort of substantial grub like hot dogs or hamburgers or wings or corn nuggets.

Hares who want to lay an old-school trail or a Rumson-style trail (all beer and food after the circle is on your own) are welcome to but should make this known when they turn their info into the Trailmaster.

Variety is the spice of life. If every hash was exactly the same this would be a very boring hobby. Thankfully, there is room for all sorts of hares, hounds and trails.

Soccer Sucks But Brandi Should Hash

The World Cup is on TV. If I could find the flipper I would turn something else on.

There are many reasons why I am thankful to be an American. One of them is because we are NOT obsessed with "football". This game has been going on for over an hour and the score is still a whopping 0-0. Not much excitement but plenty of drama.

These boneheads fall down and writhe around in simulated agony anytime someone comes anywhere near them. Its amazing how their intense pain and agony can suddenly just go away.

At least the fans provide some entertainment by getting completely loaded and fighting in the stands and throwing things at the players.

The only World Cup moment I have ever cared about was Brandi Chastain yanking her shirt off in the 1999 win over China. That bimbo would make a good hasher.
